Digi Pack Influences

The digi pack we have come up with is going to have a unique and eye-catching design. I think that we should adapt something that will look abstract, with a symbol in the center of the front cover to make it look bold, urban/ natural and house styled.

Ideas for logos could include a leaf, tree or a water drop, as they can be symbols of nature and forestry. In particular leafs from rainforests is more appropriate than a maple or clover leaf because the rainforests around the world are usually viewed as ecological, significant Eco systems which in some areas of the world are being destroyed consistently for the raw materials and land use, to mirror the attitude of our characters from our video to be disrespectful, arrogant and careless to the damage they are causing.

 Therefore this could show the audience immediately what the theme/ style of the music within the album is about. Using easy and simple symbols will be easy for the mind to recognize and remember, therefore being able to differentiate our album. 

These are ideas for a symbol for our album. It will need further editing so that it will look unique against the background.  The leaf and trees are good examples to represent nature as they enable for life to exist, as they are very important to the earth and its biology.

For the tree below, I think could be another good idea for our album cover as it is another sign of nature as well as being a symbol of life and value around the earth. I think that this particular image would be a good album cover to represent nature and how damaged and life drained it is as it has no leaves and the birds flying away from it as they have no home to live in.

We could use the four main characters in the video to represent the cover, already providing a visual introduction to people who see or pick up the CD. An influence of this idea is from the Gorillaz album: Demon Days.  This album, like our video shows four characters that are unique within their band and music videos. 

I think that for the background of our album we could create a one-theme tone such as a handful of small colors in a single compilation like a texture. This could be idea such as leaves, stripes, and camouflage and graffiti so that like the symbol it would enable for the cover/ case to look different and stand out and represent either nature or urban.

The release date for our digi pack could be in early to mid spring in 2014. Spring could be an ideal time for nature coming back to life, with leaves growing on trees, animals and other wildlife waking from their hibernation, I think that the release of the digi pack could be appropriate for this seasonal reason. I think that this song having a rain pattering like beat could be another reason for its release in spring.

Websites which could distribute our chosen song could be featured on very popular websites such as Amazon and iTunes because they have a large reputation and could attract potential customers. The group who has produced this song is already available on Sound Cloud, which is a music storing website which can be linked to iTunes for digital distribution.
